When the Reebok was built i was involved in the athletics track being incorporated into the Bolton Arena plans, at that time the Reebok was in it's infancy and i recall that the capacity of the stadium required a set number of car parking spaces being available.

So will the sale of the car park have a detrimental effect on capacity in the long term, or would a condition built into the plans in 1997 still have any bearing?

Which bit have they sold ? anybody know. Emerson group manage the Middlebrook so more food outlets ?

I don't think we'll ever need worry about capacity again.

I would imagine Emerson will just lease it back to whoever buys the club.

If it ever happens.....

How much have we sold it for? I keep hearing/reading the figure £25million. Surely not?

£25 million?

It's in Horwich, not Knightsbridge.

I doubt that valuation's accurate, mate.

Not that I'm an expert on Transport Infrastructure Ancillary Facilities valuations.

We need Amos for that type of shit.

Everybody's got a skill and that's his.

I might even set my alarm for 04:00 am to get up and read his response.

We need about 500 spaces for all the creditors to park and then some bike sheds for the 800 weekly fans next season.
Of course a roof over the bike shed was proposed in the weekly board meeting but was ultimately determined not to be necessary since the Vice-President's BMW needed an oil change instead.

According to the news today we haven't sold the piece of car park that was expected to go this month. It's 'failure to sell' is cited as one of the reasons the staff have been told they probably aren't getting paid this month

Turns out (according to Iles in the BN) that the club doesn't yet own the bit of land we're proposing to sell to Emerson, so they've got to buy it first.

And then sell it to Emerson.

Seriously.....what the fuck is going on?

Wanderers seek court order to complete land deal and pay their staff

Wanderers will seek a validation order tomorrow which should enable them to complete the sale of car parking land at the Macron Stadium to the Emerson Group.

The Bolton News understands that the deal involves the purchase of a small chunk of land, which will then be sold on as part of the larger deal to the owners of Middlebrook Retail Park.

A validation order is effectively a blessing from the court providing comfort to a bank to allow the club to make a transation. The winding up petition served by HMRC on Monday meant accounts were frozen and that the process could not go ahead without the say so of a court.

It is hoped that when the sale of the land goes through that administration and managerial staff will be paid at some point next week – with the process taking around three working days.

A statement released by the club read: “Bolton Wanderers can confirm that a third validation order hearing has been set for Friday 22 January.

“The granting of the order would then allow the club to take further steps towards resolving the immediate and longer term funding issues.

“Every effort continues to be made by the board of directors and its advisers to pay staff their due salaries for the month of January and the Club again thanks all its staff for their continued support and commitment at a most challenging time.

“The club will continue to update further in due course.”

if we have no money how are we paying for it in the first place? All seems very complicated but we are talking about BWFC here

Good move IMO, the players obviously don't train anyway so it's a useless facility.

Bolton Wanderers Football Club can confirm that it has completed a second commercial transaction with PBP Ltd.

The further agreement provides much-needed short term funding, extends and progresses the long leasehold interests and joint venture development concept over the Macron Stadium North Car Parks that the parties had first entered into last year.

PBP and the club now intend to bring forward detailed development proposals later in the Spring, although the whole project is expected to take a number of years.

The club had previously been in advanced discussions with Middlebrook Business Park Limited, but ultimately a deal could not be concluded.
