I know this is an announcement and really should be posted in Nuts announcements section but I wanted people to see and read this rather than just clicking away from it.

Firstly on behalf of all the backroom team I would like to thank all the people who stepped up to do a bit of modding for us over the recent Euro competition.

You did a fantastic job, help make the forum better for us all and never managed to delete a thread or accidently ban anyone!

We (BTID and Karly) will shortly be taking down the Euro competition part of the forum and replacing it with our normal competition section (the big kick off is less than 3 weeks away now!).

Barb as very kindly offered to run his competition again and I'm hoping that the good people who have run previous very successful competitions for us previously will once again step forward and run them once more - please say you will.

If anyone as any new ideas or would wish to run something for the benefit of us all, please just say - we will definitely  snatch your hand off if you do!

Obviously now that the Euro's have finished that section will be taken down too and the idea is to replace it with a new section called 'Bolton Town and District' where news and banter of the goings on in and around Bolton can be discussed.

Nearly all of us have roots in Bolton and/or the surrounding district and still are fond of it even if we no longer live there anymore.  Many of us still do though and the rest of us would love to hear the gossip and scandal of what goes on there day to day.

We've even lined up a new mod for this section. Mr Holland Bolton himself and future Lib dem councillor in waiting, but I won't post his name up yet until he's signed on the dotted line and we can post a picture of him with his grin, Nuts scarf and stood in front of the Nuts office.

We also have plans to open another new section once the season gets underway to talk about Premier and other football for those of you who have a life outside of Bolton Wanderers!

We are also trying to start up a blog and are currently trying to recruit a blogger to run it for us but we are really keen for anybody at all who would like to help with this or have any story's they would want to share with us.

You don't need to worry about your grammar or spelling, we aren't bothered about that and we can fix it easily enough anyway, we simply would like anyone to chip in with anything at all really - match preview or report if you went (particularly away games), a picture or two from your mobile, BTID and Karly will work their magic and get it on the blog/forum somehow, or even comment or opinion on players, manager, the team or Natasha's mole.

The idea behind all of this is to get Nuts more widely known in the BWFC community and hopefully attract more people here to make Nuts better for all of us.

We aim to keep Radio Nuts live match day commentary going but we will be changing the link address to stop those from other sites basing their whole match day around Nuts hard work and innovation whilst at the same time refusing to even acknowledge Nuts even exists - they can't have it both ways and after TWO years our patience has finally run out.  You can't say we didn't give them a fair chance.

Hopefully most if not all of our plans will work but we really need your support if you can spare some of your free time if you can help us out in anyway you can.

We are open to any kind of ideas at all really (as long as they don't include animals, children or height challenged people!).

Thank you for your trouble in reading this.

Please post below or pm me if you prefer on any help advice or opinions you may have in making Nuts better for us all (hopefully that doesn't include sacking me!).

Very Happy

PS - I will be contacting all the mods by pm to give them my personal thanks and a few further details.

Think it will be hard to stop people using the radio nuts link. They will just come on here get the link and post it onto 606 or another forum.

If we don't give out the link via chatbox or anywhere else then people would at least have to listen to it on Nuts via the Portal.

If they rip us off by listening to us and posting on another forum then at least we have the power to block them by banning them from Nuts if we had a mind to.

I'm not against any Wanderers fan listing to the game via our link but I find it a bit rich that some do it whilst at the same time ban mention of Bolton Nuts on their site.

Seems a bit hypocritical to me and I think it only fair that they do one thing or the other - either stop listening to Radio Nuts OR allow people on their site KNOW that we exist and that the on-line commentary is being provided by the people on this site.

I think that is fair and reasonable myself, I hope everyone else does too?

seems fair enough to me Sluffy, do people have to register on the site to access the portal?

I'm not sure to be honest but we can always close the site to visitors if we want (and we have done several times in the past) and force people to become members if they want to have access to Radio Nuts.

Let me make ourselves clear about this matter, we don't want to deprive anybody of listening to the game via Radio Nuts but we have run out of patience with those that 'take' from us whilst at the same time go out of their way to block from their sites and their users that Bolton Nuts even exists!

Seems completely unfair and unreasonable to us - doesn't it you?

I agree and even though I still post on the specific site you mean I promise not to put the new link up there. Frankly I find his attitude even more bewildering than the ST's 'favourite' site because he's got no possible justification for it. He promotes himself as a multi-sport, multi-league forum and BWFC fans account for a very tiny percentage of his total users. But then again he doesn't like me much, not since I posted how to install a very effective Adblock for both Chrome and Firefox. Something about 'not being fair to the sponsors' (translation: If you don't watch all the ads it costs me money). I've got no beef with a certain amount of advertising on a website but over there it was ridiculously out of hand and I still think he 'hosted' the adware that made this site consistently limk me to things like "Make a million with this easy trick" garbage. It took ages to get rid of it.

just seen on facebook a story about Radio Manchester not getting commentary on home games this season as they couldn't agree a deal. A couple of people mentioned Radio Nuts so it may get busier for home games i reckon

If you can just switch visitor access on and off there's nothing to lose as registrations are only likely to increase if anything. Pilot it for a while and compare registrations for that period with historical registration rates and decide whether or not to keep it that way on the basis of your data and feedback. Potential downsides are debatable, but if nothing has changed for a while seems worthwhile trialling.

Have it open for first 25 mins of match then switch it to members only.

I doubt it was Tower FMs superior match commentary that swung the deal for them.

I thought it was obvious!

We could possibly end up with more listening to Radio Nuts every game than official sources. Very Happy

I much preferred Jack Dearden to the Tower fm commentary but it would drive me mad when they keep cutting to every ground in the north west, generally when we were on the attack. At least you get uninterrupted commentary on the game with Tower.

Why don't you ask him out on a date then and propose?

i always preferred the crackly Radio Nuts anyway KP  Very Happy

I think the site will see a lot more people trying to access the portal for home games, be interesting to see how many register and contribute to the forum
