On the general performance of his side…
I thought we started okay and created some good chances. Their sending off set us back a bit, especially conceding a poor goal soon after too, but we still had our moments.

I thought we lost our way a little bit in the first half, but we changed our shape in the second period and I felt that we did everything to get ourselves back into the game.

The keeper has pulled off some incredible saves today, although there are also a few questions over our composure.

Ultimately though, it wasn’t to be. We’ll dust ourselves down though and get ready for next weekend’s game against Bradford.

On the early sending off for Walsall…
I think after they went down to ten men, you saw a team who were hugely lifted by the situation and for ourselves, we lost our way a little in the aftermath of it all.

In the second half though, we played a lot more positively and put some good crosses in the box along with some great chances.

You’ve got to give Walsall credit for their performance though, especially their goalkeeper.

I felt that if we got one goal, we’d go on and win the game, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out like that.

I said to the lads after the game that our fans will be driving away from that match feeling disappointed with the result but they have seen their team give absolutely everything today.

On the end of the team’s unbeaten run in the league…
It’s just one of those things. Over the course of a season, you’re going to win, lose and draw games but it’s ultimately about how you respond afterwards.

We’ll regroup on Monday morning though and ensure that we have a good week building up to a terrific game next Saturday.

On the travelling support at the Banks’s Stadium…
The fans were terrific as usual and I’m disappointed for them that they’re not going home with a result today.

I felt that they would have been pleased with the commitment levels and drive shown by the lads, but ultimately it just wasn’t to be on the day.

On the return of Zach Clough…
He’s trained well this week and the plan was originally to give his a 25 minute run out, but I felt against ten men that he’d be able to do the 45.

We’ll assess him this week though and see how he goes on ahead of next weekend.

I thought he showed some good touches though and had some good chances, but that will come.

On Keshi Anderson’s dismissal…
It was a farcical decision. It’s just been a breakdown in communication and Keshi has been told to go on by the fourth official, something that was heard with my own ears.

The officials have said that he was trying to gain an advantage by giving us an extra man which is ridiculous.

I don’t think you’ll ever see two more innocuous yellows cards in your entire life, but we move on.

And finally, on next Saturday’s visit of his former club Bradford City…
I’m looking forward to it. They’ve had a decent result today, but it will be an exciting game.

We need a reaction ultimately though. We’ve had a lot of plaudits for our start to the season, but we’re in a sticky patch at the moment.

We’ll come out strong next week however and ready for the challenge.

Fuck off Parkinson, the way you talk we were narrowly beaten by Barcelona.
