A few names of past players I thought who had an affection and affinity for The Wanderers that went slightly beyond the pride felt of wearing the white jersey.  I cannot think of any in the present squad that have that connection, hopefully if our fortunes improve, I could be proved wrong.

John McGinlay, Kevin Nolan, Mike Whitlow, Simon Charlton, Alan Thompson, Phil Brown (player), Campo, Gudni.

Local players, especially pre 1960, always had the club in their blood I imagine, so the list above is the more recent players I could think of who I thought always gave that little bit more. Not exhaustive, there must be plenty others, surely.

Maybe Warren Joyce, never a great player and was in a poor team but he always gave it his all and played with his heart and soul. Roy Greaves would be another but he would come in to the "old school" category I guess.

Kissing the badge means nothing, Alan Stubbs used to do it a lot.

All good shouts above, including Stubbsy (before it turned sour).

Richard Sneekes is another that I think is worth consideration.

Frandsen, Gudni are great examples, I always liked N'Goty as well.

On the flip side remember when Mark Fish kissed the Charlton badge in front of the east stand and nearly caused a riot.

Nothing like that now although I think if spearing hangs around a bit more he has the potential.

Your always going to look at players from an era when the club did well, a real gem would be one who went through a rough patch, From a good era Jussi must be included he is one of our longest serving players. If things had turned out better then Stuart Holden had it in spades.
