Wanderers’ Under-18s suffered late heartbreak in their latest league game against Watford on Saturday afternoon.

A match which started with both teams equally matched and each looking to open the scoring, Bolton had an early penalty decision turned down when Cole Lonsdale was brought down in the area.

Straight on the counter-attack however, Watford themselves proceeded to win themselves a spot-kick after James Aspinall had brought down the Hornets' striker - one which was duly dispatched the effort from 12 yards.

Despite this, Wanderers reacted positively and had numerous chances to equalise with Dennis Politic hitting the post with a free-kick.

And they were eventually rewarded with their best phase of play in the game as Politic scored an excellent individual effort to level the scores before the break.

Following the restart, Bolton pushed forward in a bid to take the lead with Ryan White testing Watford’s keeper whilst Cameron Moore had two chances cleared off the line.

The game changed however when Shakeel Jones-Griffiths was harshly dismissed for a second bookable offence, with the visitors taking advantage of their additional man to snatch a winner late on.

Bolton: Aspinall, Grant, Lonsdale, Connell, Marsh, Boon, Politic, Jones-Griffiths, White, Fearnley, Moore

Subs: Darcy, Moulden, Barnes, Smith, Preston
