How to deal with paedophiles.

Some disturbing statistics here,and I post the article without yet forming an opinion of my own.

was an interesting read but one thing does worry me. It makes sense to say we should be prioritising people actively looking to abuse children but they will always share what they've done and although someone may say they have never touched a child and are only watching or looking at images they are still contributing to the cycle of abuse as they themselves may share again with others.

Its a difficult subject and there are no easy answers but as a parent it worries me greatly what is going on these days, technology has made it far easier to become an abuser and i am forever telling my kids what to look out for (more my 9 year old to be fair, trying to get across any kind of message to my 5 year old Daughter will be tough without putting the fear of God in her)

Those found guilty should be chemically castrated.

Very interesting article. Yet again any attempt to have a rational discussion about the best approach to dealing with this problem is derailed by emotional outbursts demanding zero tolerance, etc. It is sad that irrational emotions always seem to matter more than logical and sensible argument.

Nothing irrational about intensely disliking kiddy fiddlers. It is an abhorrent crime to take a child's innocence Adults who behave in this way deserve punishment not sympathy.

I think you are missing my point RT. I have no sympathy for them. I also think it is probably incurable. However given finite resources we have to consider what is the most effective way to deal with them and knee jerk reactions like demands for zero tolerance are unhelpful.

I know where you are coming from but the most effective way to deal with them is to lock them up with all the other nonces. That way, they can't abuse innocent children. A well balanced diet with lashings of Bromide whilst they are banged up should do the trick.
