On securing yet another emphatic result on the road…
It was very pleasing – it was important that we followed up Saturday’s win over Fleetwood this evening.

We knew coming here after Gillingham’s terrific win at the weekend would be hard, with them having come from two goals down to win 3-2 against Scunthorpe.

We knew we would have to be at our very best to get a result and we certainly were tonight.

We put in a very convincing first half display but equally our professionalism in the second period was excellent while we got the fourth goal which killed the game off.

On the performance of Filipe Morais…
I was very pleased with Fil’s display – four assists for a wide player in a game is very, very good work.

The strikers are making very good runs as well though and anybody who can get into those areas knows that quality will be coming into the box for them.

The fact that we’ve scored from set-pieces once again is hugely pleasing for us too, especially with our two centre-halves attacking the ball and getting on the scoresheet once more.

On keeping a clean sheet…
It was important for us to keep a clean sheet too though. We kept shouting to the lads until the very last minute as clean sheets are to a team what goals are to strikers.

I thought we looked solid for the majority of the game and there was only a couple of moments throughout the 90 minutes where they looked dangerous.

I’m so pleased with the balance of the side tonight, but it’s now important that we get on the road as quickly as possible, get the lads rested and get as much energy as possible in their legs for what will be a terrific game against Northampton at the weekend.

On the rise in confidence levels…
I felt against Wimbledon that we played well before taking that up a level at Fleetwood at the weekend and then again tonight.

That’s what we’ve got to keep doing – we need to keep improving as a side even at this late stage of the season.

We have ten cup finals to go and we played it like it was one tonight. There was a real edge about us and a great determination throughout the game and throughout the squad.

It’s certainly not a bad time right now to put back-to-back away wins together and that will give huge confidence to everybody in the squad.

We’re pleased with these results, but we’re going to keep our feet firmly on the ground.

I’ll be reminding the lads before Saturday of the work we’ve put into these past two games  - there has been a good work ethic across the team and that is what we need to show again at the weekend.

On the travelling support…
The fans were absolutely magnificent tonight. When I walked out onto the pitch and looked across, I couldn’t believe how many fans were there.

That is absolutely fantastic on a Tuesday night – Gillingham is probably as far as you can get away from Bolton in this division.

I want to thank every one of them and I’m really pleased that we’ve sent them back with a smile on their faces.

And finally, on the challenge of Northampton Town next up…
It’s always good to come back to your home back with a couple of good away wins under your belt, so we’re really looking forward to Saturday now.
