Yes he looks as though he is - in Harper Green - see link.

(I see Morris is standing again in Halliwell!)

Chris Amos IS standing in Rumworth - best of luck mate.

Oh I'm sorry, yes it is.

I had simply typed  into google 'Bolton council election candidates' and that was the first list that popped up so I wrongly thought it was the current list for this election.

The silver lining though was the comments section of the link I posted up which listed some links to old threads on Burnden Aces, such as 'Should Amos kill Natasha' that brought back many laughs (although you may had to be around at the time to appreciate it).

Amos was posting under one of his many fake accounts (the spirit of Burnden), Dave, one of my all time favourite posters was playing ring master, Didles who I think was a real poster (who later confessed to fingering his cousin) was acting all offended with what was going on.  There was the innocence of Jamster, the harshness of Diana Prince (a wandersway stalwart who was taking a break from that forum at the time).  A guest appearance of 'Stinky' who had been a forum legend on the original bbc606 forum - but who went and got himself married and stopped playing childishly with the rest of us on the forums from then on - apart from this one and only time!

There was a Bolton lad who didn't like football Squidgy, who went on to marry an Northern Irish girl 'spud' (sadly they parted later on) who contributed to the thread and of course there was Natasha too!

For a while it was really funny on BA but like always, one or two had to take it too far and spoil it for the rest of us - Big Sharps in particular - he's the one shown as 'guest' because his account was later deleted.

Anyway back to the point - yes, sorry, I messed up.

I'll look again and see if I can find out who is standing.

Thanks for putting me right Bonce.

No worries Sluffy. Sounds like BA attracted as many barmpots as Nuts. Very Happy

Right I think I've got the proper answer this time.

Tomorrow's elections are mainly for County Councils.

In county's local government is split into two halves, district councils deal with issues such as planning and housing, county's deal with stuff like education and highways.

Some large urban areas combine both functions - Bolton is one such authority.

So there will be elections in Bolton tomorrow but not for your local councillor like Morris or those who want to become one such as Johnny's mate and Amos - but to become the first Mayor of Greater Manchester (a bit like how Boris was for a time the Mayor of London).

So with that in mind I checked back to see who are the sitting councillors for Harper Green and Johnny's mate isn't one of them.

So bar him standing and winning a by-election in the last 12 months I would think the answer to his question is - no he isn't standing or an existing councillor.

Hope that helps.

Yes it was seriously funny when it was at its peak.

We were doing an average of 380 posts per day - that's twice as many as we were doing on Nuts before one or two decided to set up their own agendas and couldn't give a toss how this forum would be effected - just as long as they got their own pound of flesh.

We were comparable to Wanderers Ways at the time and bigger than TW.

If we, or any other Bolton forum, could draw in 380 posts per day now, we would be the biggest forum around, as ww post numbers have declined since along with everybody else's - Bolton Banter and Burnden Aces shutting their forums as a result.

BA imploded ultimately when the site owner decided he would suddenly dump me - just like that really - I just got a message one day out the blue saying he no longer wanted me to run his site - although I had built it up from nothing whilst he wasn't around.

Natasha and another poster (who wants to remain nameless) both separately suggested it would be a good thing to start a new forum - which is how and why Nuts came about.

Biggie also offer his help and thus became the fourth amigo, and Keegan was asked by myself if he wanted to mod with us - which he did and still does - a big shout out to him for the wonderful banner that he did us to celebrate our promotion - by the way!

BA wasn't politically correct at all times and no doubt there was one or two fake accounts about - but for a time it worked.

It would be nice to think with the summer ahead of us that some of the personal agendas that we have suffered from lately on here could be put to bed and we could once again find the fun we once had and accepted most insults as not being truly intended rather than as an invitation to go about getting someone or other banned for life or some other petty-mindedness.  It is going to be a quiet summer on here otherwise.

Anyway, it's been a successful season for us on the pitch, hopefully Anderson can sort things off the pitch too, and we will have a wonderful summer to look forward to the season to come for both the club and this forum!

Not my mate sluffy.  In fact ive just been reading some of his comments on the bolton news on (may have been Facebook) and the guy is a bit of a prick to be honest.  Doesnt do the lib dems any favours at all.  When manda is lib dem leader next year though she will sort them out

I'm sorry I didn't really intend to imply anything one way or another.

I just used the term loosely to refer to whoever it was you had mentioned and only did so because I was simply being lazy in not scrolling up and down to see what his name was again.

Didn't mean anything by it.

Amos hasn't covered himself in glory over the years either - he stood as a Lib Dem too!

:bomb:

Best of luck Manda!
