I just don't get why people behave as they do on social media (including on here as well it must be said).

To be honest I don't even see the need to tell the world about themselves - who gives a fuck really other than your family or your friends?

If you put stuff on the internet then expect some muppet somewhere to react in a way you wouldn't wish.

So when someone has a pop at you - and you are in the public eye (even if you are a fringe football player with a handsome weekly wage being paid to you every week) then just ignore what ever shit you get thrown back at you and rise above it.

Unfortunately it seems that Wilkinson didn't!

Far from the worst I have ever read and indeed a somewhat funny reply as well - but wouldn't it have been better if he had said nothing in the first place?

Could of just left it at two mins more than you. The reply wasn't warranted.

I'm no fan of Wilkinson, and hope the useless stump isn't part of the squad next season, but I think that's a fair reply.

Our response depends on the player involved. If it was Wheater we'd all be rolling on the floor laughing.

Yes we would - in fact I actually smiled at what Wilkinson put.

My point though was wouldn't it simply be best not to say anything in the first place?

I know I come from a different generation but public relations are even more key if anything in this 'instant' world of social media - look what damage the American aircraft carrier got into when they overbooked their flight and dragged off that doctor whilst everybody filmed it on their smart phones and posted it up almost immediately on to the internet.

The players had already made themselves look a bit foolish when they got in a spat with your LoV player marks a few weeks back. You would have thought (or at least I would have thought) someone would have told them if you are on social media, stick to just saying 'nice' things and keep clear of getting into any arguments.

Just shows a lack of quality and self discipline to me.
