We do need a pacy left back, but I think the key signing of the summer will be a big striker preferably someone who is younger, fitter and taller than Anichebe. We know how Parky is going to set up so if that's the way it has to be we will need a top notch target man - and they aren't easy to come by.

It wouldn't hurt trying to get players like Isaac Kiese Thelin (target man, good record, young, available on loan), Jan Bednarek, didn't get much of a looking with Southampton last year (would add some legs to our CD, was a weakness last year, would probably be available on loan). There are 100s of great players out there, which would love to use us as a spring board for the Premiership. We just seem to be going for Has-Beens and Never-Weres; there has to be better options.

I’m sure we’ll be looking at the loan market again later in the window, bit early for that at the moment - particularly as we won’t be able to pay any fees for a loan.

Don’t disagree about showing as much ambition as possible, but we are fishing in a pond reflective of our budget (league one level), International strikers may just be out of our league this year.

I'm guessing we'll never see him in the first team.

This Chiori Johnson should have been signed for the first team, at 20 he needs to be ready IMO.

With Nixon suggesting that the bulk of the available transfer/salary money will go on a target man it's amazing we are still being linked with the likes of Anichebe and Clayton Donaldson. I know that we've got f*** all to spend whilst Anderson is here but you'd still think we could find someone who is over 6'4" and under 30 with a bit of quality.
