This article caught my eye. The lowlife concerned is reported to have raped and sexually assaulted over 100 hundred women whilst employed as a London cabbie. Having been jailed in 2009 he is now deemed fit to be released. Totally wrong in my opinion. Is this the sort of message the authorities want to portray to victims of sexual assault?

Another one who should never be released.

If they'd chemically castrated him at the time he could have been released years ago and we could have paid for another hospital bed with the money wasted on his imprisonment.

Apparently, he used to be a pornstar and a stripper before becoming a taxi driver.

Just read that the government won't challenge the decision and that his release will still go ahead.

With the foresight of Lemmings, the government in the past, deemed that the Parole Board, should be independent, and while they were at it, declared that any decisions made didn't need to be justified to outside organisations.
Worked reasonably well, until one dick of a do-gooder obviously swayed the limp minded others that this was a good idea, (with no comeback). Even their own governing body has tried to back pedal, but they have their hands tied. Only way forward is to bring out a new law.

Here we are again "taking back control" of a legal system that like our electoral system and economic base is not fit for purpose. Still at least it's our injustice.

Because it would be popular with Daily Mail readers, AKA the (permanently outraged) Tory base.

I doubt very much that it is just the Daily Mail readers who are outraged. I suspect many of his victims who never got justice for his horrid crimes are just as peeved.

Shameful posts by TROY & Xmiles. Putting their political opinions before those of the victims.

I'm guessing if you, or one of your loved ones, had been a victim of a serial rapist you'd think differently.

Idiots.

You are quite right Nat. But the crimes are irrelevant to my point, why waste public time and money when we know nothing will change the decision?

As usual completely missing the point that T.R.O.Y and I tried to make. We have have every sympathy for the victims and it seems clear that justice has not been achieved but making speeches about it and urging that the government spend time and money on a completely futile legal challenge is just blatant grandstanding.

People have to stand up for what is right (and wrong) and I applaud Nat and others who stand by their principles. If nothing else, public protests will make the authorities think twice about repeating such ludicrous decisions in future.

How would victims feel if no one spoke up for their distress? It's the only way society can make progress. Similarly, are we just going to accept Trump's gross attitudes.....or should we loudly condemn them? History is rich with protests that seem futile at the time, but turn out to be influential in positive ways. Gandhi, anyone?
