Being newly retired,I'm getting a chance to see what I've been missing when it comes to TV.
And,I have to say,I've not been missing much.
I can accept it being naff during the day, but, come 5pm I'd expect an improvement. No. It gets worse. I'd even describe it as diabolical.
Today CH4 1.05 Posh Pawnbrokers.
Two vintage saxophones and a Japanese helmet attract attention. Christ almighty.
The only thing half way decent on today is Cunk On Britain.
I really don't need terrestrial TV. Do you?
Or would a vintage saxophone turn you on?

I always record 'The Sheriffs Are Coming' when it's on, but other than that I can't think of a single programme I watch (outside of football) on either BBC or ITV, daytime or evening.

I'd die of boredom without Sky.

Have to agree Nat. When it comes to sport alone,Sky has an embarrassment of riches.
The BBC and the rest just an embarrassment.

Yes The Sheriffs Are Coming is pretty entertaining.

We have so much in common.

Try 'Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away' on Channel 5. Also very entertaining.

Not quite sure if you are saying you only have terrestrial TV, but if that is the case you can always get yourself Freeview (which is digital terrestrial TV). A cheap set up box costs around £30ish I think and that is your only cost involved - no monthly payments, contracts or anything else.

It's a way of giving you considerably much more choice for a relatively small sum if you haven't thought about it before.

Just a thought.

Alternatively do what the youngsters do and get yourself a Netflix contract and watch as much telly and films as you want via your internet (to your smart TV even!).

I've got all those channels Sluffy. Every time I turn one particular channel on there's some bastard having an orgasm about the power of steam.
Netflix is OK. Particularly enjoyed Stranger Things.
But,considering the number of digital channels available for free, the quality is abysmal.

David Dickinson doesn’t do it so it’s not the real deal!

I know someone who went on it,and it's fixed. The bartering with the shop or stall holder is for show.
They actually pay the full price.

It doesn’t surprise me with it being the BBC.

To be fair though, the places they shop at have fixed prices anyway and doesn’t look like you could barter.

I find a lot of the ‘experts’ a load of shit with what they buy and at the price they pay.

I feel I could do considerably better!

Bonce is talking bollocks. It is "staged" in that the items have already been bought by the time you see the contestants haggling with the dealer, but when they go around beforehand they do barter for a better price.

You're completely wrong. Again. No bartering occurs. That would be common.

A friend of mine was on it. Whatever goes on,it's not what I thought it was. Good enough for daytime TV I suppose.
Hope your sister made a profit. My mate made a £93 loss.
