Absolute shite.

No passion, no fight and absolutely no skill.

So all the goodwill and momentum is lost. Being in the "easy" side of the draw will be rendered meaningless when we get dicked by Columbia. And we will.

Southgate showing his true colours tonight. He should have picked his strongest team and made a statement. But he clearly took his inspiration from Gary Megson.

Parky out.

The game wasn’t really worth anything so why risk our best players the chance of injury?

It’s a good move by Southgate imo to try the other lads instead!

It was painful to watch but i think the right decision to throw the match.Portugal won Euro 2016 by getting luicky and being in the piss easy half of the draw, I think we have learnt from that.If we beat Brazil in the quarter final the effort needed to achieve that would have us fucked for the semi final.

It was also a brave decision, if we don't make the semi final now it will be a poor world cup, it would mean losing to Belgium reserves and an average team like Colombia,Sweden or Switzerland

It was our reserves against their reserves so not bothered at all.

You can't judge England or Belgium on that performance as its was as Norpig says reserves v reserves. We end up in what is believed to be the easier side of the draw so its all good.

The only player who came out of it well last night was Danny Rose, he could replace Young on Tuesday, but no one else took their chance to push a claim to start next game.

Utter bollocks.

Momentum is everything. England had the country behind them, we needed to go out there with our best team and try and win the game.

Resting players hardly ever works, just ask Gary Megson.

We will lose to Columbia and then everyone will come round to my way of thinking.

So if we'd put out our best team and won but Kane and a few others got injured and were ruled out of the next game that would be a good thing?

A player can get injured having a shower or making a Cup-A-Soup.

It's more likely Kane would have scored a couple more, England would have been buzzing, and beaten Brazil 12-0 in the final.

We would have met Brazil in the QF which is a much harder prospect than Sweden or Switzerland

I reckon Southgate was hedging his bets.
If the second string players had stepped up and put on a performance then we would be in the harder side of the draw but we'd have loads of confidence and no shortage of players to select from.

Seeing as they didn't we got the consolation prize of a theoretically easier draw coupled with the excuse that it was only the second string.

But I'll bet Southgate would have preferred them to have played well and staked a claim for a starting spot.

None of them showed anything that would make Southgate consider changing his first X1 with the possible exception of Cahill who was very solid even though his passing could improve. Danny Rose was OK but he was absolutely skinned by Januzaj for their goal.

Seems to be a lack of creativity in the middle in all three games IMO.

Considering the players we have there we should be creating far more chances in open play.

Rashford & Vardy had little service to feed on yesterday.  Anyhow onto the next round we go.
