Bolton Wanderers U23s ran out 4-0 winners against Hull City on Monday evening in the Professional Development League, with goals coming from Joe Pritchard, Luca Navarro and a brace by Dennis Politic.

FIRST HALF

Wanderers were completely in control from the get-go, as Joe Pritchard went close after two minutes but his effort flew over the bar.

Dennis Politic furthered the pressure with a superb effort on the turn, but Harvey Cartwright in the Hull City goal produced a full-length diving save to deny the winger.

Jack Earing had two efforts on goal from distance on the 20 minute mark, but he couldn’t find the target on both occasions.

Unrelenting pressure ensued from David Lee’s side, as Yoan Zouma and Harry Brockbank both had unmarked headed efforts flying wide of the target.

Just before the break and Politic was causing chaos for Jon Beale's side, following pandemonium in the Hull City box.

The ball falls to the Romanian youth international, but his powerful strike flew inches away from the goal.

SECOND HALF

The second period got underway with an immediate goal for the home side, as Dennis Politic was on hand to follow up a deflected shot and drive his effort low into the bottom left corner.

One soon became two as Joe Pritchard got onto the end of a Luca Navarro pass to smash home Wanderers second of the game with just over five minutes of the second half gone.

On 56 minutes and Politic was at it again. Picking up the ball midway into the Hull City half, the wide man cut inside onto his right foot, beat his man with a step-over before coolly slotting the ball past Cartwright in the Tigers’ goal.

Hull did have a chance of their own moments after, but Liam Edwards made a last ditch tackle to prevent any threat of an opposing goal.

With six minutes of regular time remaining, Luca Navarro got his just rewards as he latched onto the end of a through ball, before taking a touch and firing home across the keeper into the far left corner.

This victory sees David Lee’s side move to fourth into the North Section of the Professional Development League.
