Tesco have withdrawn some burgers after horse meat (upto 29% of teh total meat content) was found.

I honestly believe they missed a trick - they should have sold them as Horse burgers for much higher price!!!

I haven't shopped in Tesco for years and having read your link I am bloody glad. I tend to do my main shop in ASDA and being pro Europe I don't mind shelling out a few quid in Aldi or Lidl.

If I am feeling flush after a win on the horses I might treat myself to the odd trip to Sainsburys but other than that, the only supermarket getting my money is probably Morrisons.

On a bad month I make do with Iceland!

Well they can't be using racehorses because their meat would need a slow cook.

Ive actually tried horse and its pretty good in fairness. bit dryer than most meats but falls apart and goes down fairly easily.

wouldn't go out of my way to have it again though but wouldn't be terribly upset if it appeared on the menu again.

And No, it wasn't one of my mothers horses it was actually in a restaurant in Krakow.

Ive also eaten Goat - with some Jamaican friends (well not so much friends anymore, long story) and il tell you - that was pretty good!

I have eaten goat in the Caribbean and it doesn't taste all that much different to lamb. Horses are for racing, not eating.

My understanding is that the only reason we don't eat horsemeat in the UK is because all the horses were needed during the First World War, so it was made illegal to eat them. No higher altruistic or moral rights other than we needed them to help kill the Germans. Horse is ok, and I have no problem eating it, (haven't had any for a few years though)

In light of the Tesco horsemeat scenario, I hear their meatballs are the dog's bollocks.

A cow walked into a bar today and the barman asked, " Why the long face ?"

The cow replied, " Illegal ingredients, taking our jobs."

HMV vouchers are now being accepted at Tesco. Just tell them that HMV means Horse Meat Voucher.
