Indeed was superb how long some of those fellows could hold there breath, although I believe it was just an offshoot of British Bulldog.

Does anyone remember when they used to show all the sumo wrestling it was the most surreal viewing ever, the only one I remember was a huge Hawaiian called dumptruck.
It was funny listening to them try and make it sound interesting with different names of different moves and explaining the spiritual side of it rather than just admitting it was a pair of fat bastards in nappies trying to push each other out of a circle.

Bring it on.
Your QB's put a bit of chunk on during the off-season so you should be worried.

I have a soft spot for the Sumo as the commentator was - much to my surprise - a guy called Lyall Watson who back in the early '70s wrote a book called Supernature which should be compulsory reading IMO - definitely one for Scott!whatsgoingon wrote:Does anyone remember when they used to show all the sumo wrestling it was the most surreal viewing ever, the only one I remember was a huge Hawaiian called dumptruck.

In it he describes various "experiments" and provides "evidence" of natural phenomena such as a guy who can project images from his mind on to photographic paper and produce images straight from his head - as he sees them. He was asked to imagine a specific building in Chicago and reproduced an image that was obviously the building but with key flaws e.g. wrong number of windows etc - stuff that would convince the reader that it was how he remembered it as opposed to the real deal.
My favourite was an experiment that hooked up houseplants to an ECG and monitored electrical activity across the surface of the plant. When he spilt hot coffee on it, the plant "screamed" - and so did nearby plants in what he described as "empathy" for the victim. Watson hasn't mown his lawn since.

I thought that rather than holding their breath they have to chant "Kabbadi, kabbadi, kabbadi...."?Bread2.0 wrote:And holding their breath.

Yes, but they're not allowed to take a breath whilst chanting otherwise they're out.
(I'm stating that from memories of watching it on C4 briefly, 30 years ago, so I may be wrong.)

Having supported the Redskins for over 30 years, a win is the last thing I ever expect.
