KEN Anderson has said he will take full responsibility for the timing of Wanderers’ announcement on Adam Le Fondre’s departure last night.

Fans were amazed to see the club issue a statement mid-match to confirm the 31-year-old striker would be leaving the University of Bolton Stadium.
It is understood Le Fondre will fly out today to finalise a three-year deal with Sydney FC in the A-League after having his remaining Bolton contract cancelled by mutual consent.
Anderson told The Bolton News: “I take full responsibility for the announcement during the game last night. I had noticed comments on social media and it was my intention to make sure people were not misinformed with speculation.

“Whether that decision was right or wrong I’ll leave it to other people to decide. But if there is criticism to be aimed, then I think it is right it is aimed at me and not the manager or the club’s staff.
“I felt by the time the game started the speculation had already begun and when I went back inside the boardroom at Leeds people were saying: ‘I hear Adam Le Fondre is leaving? Is it true?”

Phil Parkinson was asked by Le Fondre on Monday to cancel the remaining months of his contract and Anderson says the decision to accept was also down to him.
“For someone of Adam’s age it is an incredible offer and I feel it would have been very wrong of me to stand in his way,” he said.

"Phil spoke to me and I think there was every chance he (Le Fondre) would have been involved at Leeds United.
“But I took the stance that it was an opportunity of a lifetime for a player and his family, a new experience. And gave it my blessing.”
