So let me get this right, someone said there was a rumour that a deal had been done, then someone else said there was rumour that the deal hadn't been done because someone had moved the goal posts and some has jumped to the conclusion that it was Anderson and say not Bassini who might have commenced further legal action against say the EFL to prevent a sale.

So Iles is sat in the press box with Dearden, McGinlay, Maguire, etc - who do you think he is seeking the thoughts of and what answers do you think he will get back?

Fwiw I doubt he's bothered asking anyone who really knows and simply blames the man who banned him from the club - there's clearly no love lost between the two.

This doesn't add up to me. If FV sincerely wanted the club as an asset surely the distraction of the hotel is counter-intuitive. The delays have resulted in being unable to assemble a squad and now more likely we'll be a L2 side, reducing the value of their main asset, the club. In the meantime the players we had have left, some who would have stayed but for the delays (Wheater, e.g.) - more value lost. Now FV are staring at an embarrassing set of circumstances they could have avoided by simply buying the club as soon as the Heads of Terms was reached and then fret about the hotel after, quickly buying players, instead they've watch the value of the club disappear. Surely they would have been permitted to buy the club first and then buy the hotel if they were the proffered bidders for the hotel. Also if the EFL deduct more points due to not fulfilling the doncaster fixture due to lack of squad then there's not the remotest of chances of us surviving.

They'll be an announcement soon to say FV have backed off leaving us in the shit again. They had the opportunity to buy us before going into administration and a decent chance of staying in the Championship, now, even though they will get the club much cheaper they won't have the experience or money to get us out of L2.

The EFL Board remains concerned at the ongoing delays at Bolton Wanderers that have prevented the conclusion of the various sale agreements and documents that would result in the Club’s exit from administration.

Having been previously advised in writing on the morning of the start of the season that the deal was all but agreed and only awaiting completion signatures, there has been constant contradictory information and no finalisation of the deal.

The current situation cannot continue and the time to resolve the current impasse is now fast running out. Whilst it is understood as recently as yesterday that the parties were once again in a position to complete the formalities, there appears to be additional frustrating delays that are only serving to have a negative and detrimental impact.

The EFL urges all parties to communicate and come together to find the necessary and final solutions so that Bolton Wanderers can start to plan for its long term future and end months of uncertainty for all those associated with the Club, in particular the players, staff, supporters and the local Bolton community.

If a successful conclusion to a sale is not found or there are no credible plans for the Club to continue the season in administration by the planned Board meeting at 5pm on Tuesday 27 August 2019, then the EFL Board will consider lifting the suspension on the Notice of Withdrawal of the Club's membership of the League which was issued when the Club entered into administration in May 2019.

They havent said they will do it, and they havent said they wont. They will consider it.

To buy the club they need to find £24m.

They haven't got £24m.

The only way they can get £24m is to sell the stadium and lease back (they had a deal in place to do so).

The hotel is part of the stadium.

Without the hotel they can't sell it for £24m.

Without the £24m they can't buy the club in the first place!

Is that any easier to understand?

It is understood the sale of the club was halted on Friday night after former owner Ken Anderson changed his demands.

So some lackey was unavailable to sign a document. If we are to believe that then I ask who the fook is charge of this process.  Millions of pounds potentially at stake and we can't get a courier or Fed-ex to deliver the documents or have all parties in one room ready to sign off.

Obviously they know a hell of a lot more than Iles does too who initially pointed this shit about it being a LEGAL problem and which I rather stupidly believed he'd investigated (like proper journalists are paid to do) the facts of what was actually going on at the time -
