Something along the lines of Baywatch.

I'm off to the coinstar machine in ASDA tomorrow with a pile of loose change. It doesn't get much better for me.
Bus watch was ok while it lasted though.

Magennis can fuck right off! If he's been paid then surely he has no right to try and walk away from his contract now can he?

Not sure I entirely agree, Norpig. Surely he has every right after going unpaid for several months. I don’t blame him. I do agree with him fucking right off though. We’re so deep in the shit that I couldn’t care less who stays or goes, even Wheater, just as long as some kid is prepared to step up and be proud to pull on a white shirt. The whole structure of the game is a farce and I couldn’t give a monkey’s about climbing back up the leagues because the higher we go the less competitive it is. Joke of a sport in this country.

Norpig my understanding is that a player who is unpaid for 2 consecutive months is automatically a free agent and can sign elsewhere immediately. Since Magennis and some others were unpaid for 5 months they had the right to go elsewhere on a free transfer 3 months ago and have been here on non contract terms. Sadly that means yes he can now walk if he wants but it's difficult to blame him or any of the others especially given how protracted and messy the takeover is proving to be.

Did anyone bother going to this farce?

The stats on the BBC site are hilarious. We had 61% possession yet managed only 3 shots (none on target) to their 25 (10 on target).

with all due respect xmiles the fact we had so much possession is very encouraging imo. We were effectively a brand new team cobbled together at the very last minute and we more than held our own. Personally I think they've got good reason to be proud of themselves today.

Of course the result is disappointing but I honestly think the performance was better than could be expected and for the first time in a long time there is some reason for hope going forward.

I didn't go so I can only comment on the stats not the performance. What struck me as surprising was the amount of possession we had given that last season we seldom had even 50% possession. Even more surprising was that even with all that possession we could only take 3 shots as against their 25.

True mate. Like you I only listened to the commentary but based on that I have to say we did play decently overall. Certainly we need to address chance creation and obviously scoring but given the fact we put out a scratch team that only came together yesterday I think it's a fairly promising start and I was especially pleased by the possession stat. If we do play proper possession football going forward then I'm sure the goals will come.

I'd say the possession stat is widely inaccurate. The halftime stats we had had 24% possession, the 2nd half we barely touched the ball.

The Bolton fans who went sounded in good spirits getting behind the club today and they deserve some credit due to the current situation where most folk don’t feel like bothering at the moment.

The result is no surprise to be fair due to the players that we have had to field and them having little to no game time together to at least practice stuff and gel.

Things will get better once our buyout is finalised I’m sure.

I was able to watch it on ifollow.  Yes those possession stats are nonsense.

Not sure what to say about it. The kids all did well.....not many of them will be in the team if we go ahead and sign 12 players next week I would presume.  Zouma seemed to be our best player. The rest of them did nothing to impress but worked hard for the team. Better performance than most expected.

Report: Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 Bolton Wanderers

Second half goals from Paul Smyth and Fred Onyedinma may have given the points to Wycombe Wanderers in a 2-0 victory at Adams Park but the display of passion, pride and endeavour from a young Bolton Wanderers side will stay in the hearts and minds of the travelling supporters for years to come.

Towering performances from young men who’ve been with the club’s academy since they were young boys showed love and desire for the badge they so proudly adorned on their chests.

On this occasion, the result didn’t matter and the Wanderers fans celebrated at full-time as if they had won promotion.

Phil Parkinson handed out six debuts as Bolton Wanderers took to the field for their opening Sky Bet League One fixture.

New signings James Weir, Josh Earl, and Harry Brockbank, who had re-signed for the club on a two year deal, joined Denis Politic, Liam Edwards, Yoan Zouma and Eddie Brown – players from the clubs under 18s and under 23s squads, in making their first senior appearances in Wanderers colours.

With just under 2,000 travelling Wanderers fans making their passion heard, the players knew that they had an unequivocal backing of every single man, woman and child in the away end.

Adeybayo Akinfenwa had the game’s first chance after two minutes but as he turned to get a shot on target – after latching on a ball pumped into the box - he scuffed the ball into the arms of Remi Matthews.

The visitors suffered an early blow when debutant Earl went down under a heavy challenge. After some lengthy treatment he went off the field to be replaced by Joe White.

Zouma made a stunning perfectly timed challenge in his own box to thwart Alex Samuel as the wideman threatened.

Akinfenwa’s physical presence was proving to be a handful for the Wanderers back line and a headed lay off for Paul Smyth culminated in the latter drilling his effort across the face of Matthews’ goal.

Politic had Wanderers first effort just after the half-hour half mark when his shot from distance drifted narrowly wide.

A long range effort from Smyth flew over Matthews’ bar after the hosts tried to wrest back control of the game.

Akinfenwa spurned a glorious chance when a cross from the right found his head. His header, though, proved to be wayward and threat passed.

The burly striker was more accurate with his next effort, after connecting to a right sided free-kick, but his headed shot went straight into Matthews’ hands.

On the stroke of half time, Samuel should have done better with his diagonal shot that arrowed just over Matthews’ cross bar.

Three minutes after the restart and a goalmouth melee in the Wanderers box ended up with the visitors being awarded a goal-kick.

Another superb tackle from Zouma, over on the right, robbed Samuel of possession and brought about adoring chants from the Wanderers faithful.

A vital block from Brockbank denied Bloomfield at close range as the hosts stepped up their attacking threat.

From the resulting corner, big centre-half Anthony Stewart headed wide of Matthews’ right hand stick.

Smyth opened the scoring in the 57th minute when he put the ball into an empty net after Matthews was stranded outside his box.

Matthews raced off his line to thwart Pattison after Wanderers lost possession at the expense of a corner from which Fred Onyedinma headed home to put the hosts two goals to the good.

Despite the loss, Wanderers trudged off the field with their heads held firmly high.

Bolton Wanderers:

Matthews, Lowe, Murphy, Oztumer (Darcy 70), Weir, Brockbank, Politic, Edwards, Zouma (King-Harmes 77), Earl (White 14), Brown

Subs Not Used: Alnwick, Boon, Senior, Graham.
