Kyle Dempsey will have a scan on an injured knee on Monday as he became the EIGHTH player unavailable for selection at Wanderers last week.
The midfielder, who had scored against West Brom in Bolton’s first friendly last weekend, sat out the 3-0 defeat against Middlesbrough, played at Bishop Auckland.
Jack Iredale, Gethin Jones, Chris Forino, Luke Southwood, Carlos Mendes Gomes, Dion Charles and Randell Williams were already unavailable for selection, leaving Evatt with just 14 fit outfield players from which to choose his side on Saturday.
Though the situation could improve by the end of the week, Evatt explained that he would know more about Dempsey once he has visited a specialist and had the injury checked out.
“We have had historical injuries carry over from last season, and even the summer, which is frustrating,” he said. “We will see how Kyle is on Monday, we are hoping it isn’t too serious but we don’t know yet.
“He felt some issue with his knee on the lateral side. There is a tiny bit of swelling and a bit of soreness, it doesn’t look anything major but it was enough to keep him out here.
“Until we get a picture and image on it we don’t really know what we are dealing with now.”
Evatt did have some better news, however, with a few players pencilled in for next Friday’s home friendly against Fiorentina.
“Dion is almost ready,” he said. “He’ll hopefully play a minor part against Fiorentina.
“Gethin is similar, Jack Iredale is similar, and Luke Southwood is back training again now so he isn’t far away.
“There are bodies returning so it isn’t all doom and gloom but it has been difficult to do what we want to do in these early friendly games because we just haven’t had the bodies.”
