I quite like some of the Olympics - some such as skateboarding and break dancing what the fuck?
I'm not at all interested in horses prancing about or clearly gay chaps twirling about as they jump into the swimming pool - although I acknowledge the skills involved but we've had two bits of sheer drama in the last 24 hours that makes the Olympics what it is for me.
The first happened last night where Andy Murray had all but played his last match.
I don't know if anyone saw it but he and Dan Evans were playing a scratch Japanese pair who really were only there to make up the numbers (seriously - apparently one had never played doubles before and the other had missed most of the season injured) and they totally battered the Brits winning seven games on the trot to lead 6-2, 2-0.
Murray and Evans - neither playing at all well managed to pull even and play for the second set with a tie break up to 6 points.
They won that.
There was no third set as such - it has been replaced by another tie break of up to 10 points instead and in no time at all the Japanese had FIVE match points at 9-4
Incredibly Murray and Evans won the next 7 points to win 9-11.
Pure theatre.
Today in the Mountain biking we had pure theatre yet again.
I won't spoil it for those who may not know what the result is and how events unfolded but if you've got an hour to spare try and find a video of the full even and watch the full event and enjoy the climax building as to will he won't he and the twist in the tail at the end.
Thrilling stuff.
