With five games of their domestic campaign remaining, David Lee and Tony Kelly's youngsters face their Manchester United counterparts on Saturday morning hoping to record their fourth consecutive win.

It will be the return fixture following the Whites’ 2-1 home win back in January - a game which saw Elliot Newby and Jamie Thomas net for Wanderers in testing weather conditions at Lostock.

The hosts themselves currently lie in mid table in the league standings and suffered an exit in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup last month when they were knocked out by Huddersfield Town.

Paul McGuinness’ Red Devils also slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat in the North East against Newcastle United after firing a rare blank in their last outing – a result which they will no doubt be eager to avenge this weekend.

The Whites on the other hand enter the clash having defeated Liverpool 4-2 last Saturday to continue their impressive second half of the season.

A win which was their eighth victory in ten outings, the club’s youngsters will be aiming to put in a similar performance against their local rivals and extend their fine run of late.

A side visibly high in confidence having notched nine times in their last three games – matches which have also seen in-form striker Thomas add four strikes to his ever increasing tally – Wanderers will be hoping that their purple patch in front of goal continues against the Red Devils.
