rip rambo and rocky

2 of my three dogs are being put down tomorrow.  Making for a very sombre atmosphere at the moment.

We know it's what's best as quality of life is nil for them both.

Got them both a steak for tea tonight.

Sorry about your dogs, it's a difficult decision to have them put down.

One is twelve and the other 15, for bichons they have had a good innings but but still hard

ugh, I still miss my dog and he was put down 8 years ago.

Sorry about that lad... I love my dogs so I know how you must feel.

So sorry for you Johnny. I know what you're going through, I was heartbroken when I had to have our much loved 15 year old cat put down a few months ago.

Thanks all.  Dont actually want to go to bed. Feel like a right big soft shithouse but sat on the floor with them both.

Vets at 11 and then a drive to the crem in leyland.

I will never forget when we had to have our family dog put down we had for around 13 years, 2am the dog had a fit and we think she had cancer as she had started to get them more often as time went on and had to make the choice there and then to have her put down.

Was absolutely heart broken, cracked open a bottle of Gin when we got back home from pet medics in Salford as that was all we had in the house at the time and had a very strong gin and tonic, was in tears for as long as I could remember.

Glad you gave them a steak!

I admire you for doing this, it's heartbreakingly hard, but giving a dog a final steak, and a cuddle, and letting them go when life has no joy at all is the right thing to do, as much as it hurts. Not to do so would be selfish, and you sound like you know the time is right. Your other dog will be equally bereft/perplexed I believe, and you are no less of a man for having a big sob, will be thinking of you all.

Thinking of you today, it's a hard to say goodbye.

I insisted i didnt want anyone with me family wise because i thought i would be fine......how wrong i was.

Like has been said they arent suffering anymore.
