....tried dismantling a settee, ready to take it to the tip?

What a ball-ache that was.

My fingers look like I've stuck my hands in an industrial mincer and my back's now crippled.

Next time I'm paying for a van.

Have you ever tried saving a few bob by tackling a job because you thought: "I'm not paying some other bugger for that, I'll do it myself!"

And then regretted it....?

I did it once,many years ago.
Found over 3 quid,several dog biscuits,and,believe it or not,a small plate.
To tell you the truth,it was a pretty expensive settee,and I was amazed at how shoddy it was underneath.

I attacked it with a jigsaw (cue obvious gag from Johnny), a 4lb lump hammer, several screwdrivers, a crow bar and a hacksaw.

And it still took me over an hour.

Never doing that again.

What's the secret Barb?

Pick it up with an FLT and drop it off a cliff?

No, that was the washing machine I once made the mistake of trying to dismantle.

It had a wiring loom in it that could run the electrics on the ISS and it was all interconnected and it took me hours.

And then I had to deal with the concrete block in the bottom....
