Neil Lennon spoke to the media following Bolton Wanderers' late draw against Ipswich Town at Macron Stadium.

A late Stephen Dobbie penalty and Lawrie Wilson’s volley saw Bolton recover from a two-goal deficit. The visitors had earlier taken the lead through Kevin Bru, before after half time Christophe Berra headed a second.

And speaking in his post-match press conference the manager covered the below points.

On the performance…
We continue to play well, but we’re missing some guilt edged chances in front of goal. The least we deserved was a point and it is very frustrating when you see the quality of our play. It’s symptomatic of our season really. I’ve been saying for a while we have been playing well, but football is about being ruthless and we didn’t put Ipswich away.

In the Ipswich goals…
Their first was a wonder goal. We came back into the game and then had another go at it, but then Paul Rachubka slips from a free kick through no fault of his own and we then find ourselves two goals down.

On options in the final third…
We’ve missed that poacher in front of goal all season. That’s not a criticism of any of the players we currently have in the squad at this moment. Goalscorers cost money and that is something that we haven’t really been able to work with this season. We brought Adam Le Fondre in last season and he made us better. That’s the type of player we miss.

On Josh Vela’s omission from the matchday squad…
We just decided to leave him out today. His performances have dipped a little bit, as often happens with young players. We just felt he needed a bit of a break and he’ll come back refreshed.

On Wellington Silva’s impact from the bench…
He’s not been in the team because some of his performances had dipped in recent weeks. We’ve also gone with a midfield diamond in recent weeks and played pretty well. Being a winger, it’s not really a system that suits him. His performance tonight has certainly given us something to think about ahead of the weekend.
