I was watching Good Morning Britain yesterday and Piers Morgan was slamming a magistrate who was sacked for being against gay adoption. Piers Morgan branded him a homophobe and living in the dark ages.

I am not homophobic but I don't think gay adoption is best for a child. I believe any child needs a mother and a father, and I do think as a teenager the child is put in a very awkward situation having gay parents, they are likely to get bullied and treated different.

What's your take on it?

I understand where you're coming from about kids growing up and possibly coming in for some stick, but views and opinions are changing as regards to the acceptance of gay people and stopping them from adopting sends out the wrong message imo. I also can't help thinking it would be very unfair to deny people the chance of being a parent based on their sexuality, which they can do nothing about. Which is best for a child? - an unstable home with straight parents or a comfortable and stable home with same sex parents? It's about time society moved on and accepted it imo. Religion, as is always the case, doesn't help matters.

I'm all for it. Gay adoption increases the proportion of children being brought up by two loving parents at a time when single parenthood is increasingly the norm.

I see a lot of people pushing prams round Bolton town and wonder how much worse off the kid would be with chimpanzees for parents.

I think there are far bigger worries when it comes to parenting in this country than the parents' genders and sexual preferences.

You need to explain. Why does what someone does in the bedroom (or behind Bargain Booze for that matter) impact on their abilities as a parent?

The kid is going to get bullied and ripped to bits all through its life, no female to learn from (in the case of the mother) just 2 males, I don't agree with it either as a whole TBH.

There are other reasons why but have slipped my mind although will add here just for your benefit when I remember them.
