They don't lock you in the resort if you go AI, lads.

The beauty of it is you pretty much get something to eat and drink when you want and you're not tied to set meal times.

So if you fancy a lie in you can have one without having to rush down for breakfast.

Equally, if you fancy a burger after you've had a few drinks in the evening, you can get one.

It's horses for courses and I still love going self-catering as well but AI has its place and I'd recommend it.

I have done both AI and SC and both have their merits. As Breaders quite rightly points out, you don't have to stay in the hotel just because you are AI. I found AI great for kids because they can have a drink whenever they like and if you are a family on a budget you don't need a great deal of spends because all your meals and drinks are included.

Is Hurgadha a safe place to go? Was going to go to Sharm El Sheikh in July but decided against it, so going to Portugal instead.

I'm not keen on the Aldi Snak crisp range. They aren't a patch on walkers crisps.

I'm sure you meant Lidl and that was a typo, have never tried Aldi's own crisps so not sure what they are like.

We always used to buy the big Walkers packs when I was a kid with the weekly shop but I feel that they are not as good and as tasty as they used to be years ago.

I always loved the Seabrook branded crisps and whenever going to the footie, it was a bit of a treat to get a pack of their prawn cocktail or worcester sauce flavoured ones from the pub as supermarkets didn't seem to stock them up until around 10 years ago.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!

Golden Wonder are the best crisps - fact. 3 quid in Iceland for 24 packs.

Sorry Martin, it appears your holiday deals thread is now about everyone's favourite crisps. Highly unusual for a thread to get completely hijacked on nuts, I wasn't expecting it at all.

Used to make them in Liverpool at Jacobs.

Two buckets of ammonia to every fifteen of water was the recipe if I recall correctly.

Imagine an old people's home which had been invaded by incontinent cats and had all the windows nailed shut.

Then double it.

And add some more wee.

That's what it smelt like.

King size Pot Noodles have the same size sachet of sauce as normal size ones and so the flavour isn't as good. They should give a larger sachet to compensate for the extra Noodles and water. Just sayin'.

Boring science bit now.....

Because they're smaller they have a larger surface area to volume ratio than the standard biscuits and can therefore hold more of the cheesy flavouring on the outside of each one, relative to the mass of the biscuit .

If the small ones were a perfectly scaled down version of the standard ones, this wouldn't apply but they're not because there's a minimum thickness that can be achieved via the pinning and sheet & cut processes involved.

Hence, they taste stronger.

So you aren't imagining it, Boncey - it's true.

Bread's clearly on the offensive, laying down an early marker for the rest of the forum in the race for this years most intelligent poster award. He's obviously determined and willing to fight to the death to keep hold of that award. I guarantee you won't see a post like that on any other football forum in the land.
