Bolton Wanderers have secured the services of Keith Andrews, with the midfielder signing a three-year contract at the Reebok Stadium.

The Republic of Ireland international, who started all three of his country's group games at Euro 2012, has joined on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at West Bromwich Albion.

Speaking about his latest recruit, manager Owen Coyle said: "We are pleased to have been able to bring in Keith early in the transfer window as there were a number of clubs interested in signing him.

"He is highly experienced both in domestic and international football, and he will bring strength, competition and a goalscoring threat to our midfield."

Andrews spent the second half of last season at the Hawthorns having signed a short-term contract in January.

He made a total of 14 appearances for Roy Hodgson, scoring Premier League goals against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sunderland.

Previously, the Dublin-born man had spent the first five months of the 2011/12 campaign on-loan at Ipswich Town from parent club Blackburn Rovers.

He averaged just under a goal every two games for the Tractor Boys, scoring nine times in 20 Championship matches.

Andrews moved to Ewood Park from MK Dons in the summer of 2008. In his 76 games for Rovers, he scored five goals.

The vastly-experienced 31-year-old has also represented Wolverhampton Wanderers, Oxford United, Stoke City, Walsall and Hull City in a senior career which started in 2000.

On the international scene, Andrews has been a regular for Giovanni Trapattoni's Republic of Ireland side in recent years having earned 31 caps since making his debut in November 2008 against Poland, where he marked his performance with a goal.

Andrews has also found the net for the Irish in games against Italy and Estonia, both in 2011.
