Bolton appear to have pulled off one of the deals of the day after agreeing a £4million fee for England Under 21 striker Sordell. Bolton manager Owen Coyle was desperate to bring in more firepower and was knocked back in a bold bid for Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha. He fared better with Sordell, however, and is wrapping up personal terms.

Earlier, Watford's chairman pulled him out of tonight's game at Millwall.

Frimpong, who limped off at Loftus Road after damaging his right knee, will now return to his parent club Arsenal.

The Arsenal youngster, 20, will see specialists in London over the next few days before undergoing surgery.
