Whilst we were watching the Brazil v Belgium game my mate suggested that in the future instead of concentrating all the football revenues into the top leagues of the various countries, there may be a world league made up of the national teams - with promotion and relegation to and from divisions initially established from the world rankings.
Initially i thought this was daft, but as a vision for the (distant?) future it may have some merit - after all there is a World Cup.
However, I can't see how those with vested interest in the current arrangements would loosen their grip on the money.
