I didn't really have any spare time to flag this up when it was in the bews a few weeks back and was surprised it wasn't discussed on Nuts (if it was I missed it) but the Government had set up a committee looking at how secure UK nationals personal information on Facebook was.

Not very by the sound of it!

Thankfully I don't use Facebook or any other forms of social media but it is fairly clear that those who do, all your personal stuff is 'famed' and used by others for their own purposes.

Orwell's Big Brother getting a step closer perhaps?

Big Brother is already with us, and part of the plan is for us not to notice. Once noticed, we shrug it off by saying that we are doing nothing wrong, so nothing harmful will happen to me. So very very wrong !

If you have a smartphone, with apps, the chances are that you're being listened to unless you manage your settings very carefully. Because its the biggest of the social platforms, Facebook is the one being demonized at the moment (and rightly so), but I don't think its the only social media apps that people should be worried about. There need to be much tighter laws implemented across the board to protect our personal data.
