Wanderers will get back down to business today – but there is still no end in sight to the financial problems crippling the club.

After closing their Lostock training base completely yesterday because of a lack of food, fuel and supplies, Phil Parkinson will bring his squad back to begin preparations for this weekend’s home clash with Millwall.

The Bolton boss has been given a shred of good news, as striker Josh Magennis has been cleared for a comeback after being stretchered off the field in the weekend’s defeat against Swansea.

Magennis is understood to have suffered temporary nerve damage and could return as soon as the weekend.

Wanderers’ off-the-field issues remain. All full and part-time staff remain unpaid and thousands of supporters have been left in the dark after Direct Debit payments for season tickets did not come out of their accounts this month. No comment or reason has yet been offered five days after the payment was due.

Although the majority of the first team was given the day off yesterday, those who were due to report to Lostock were told to stay away as there would be no food, drink or fuel supplies.

Players have traditionally paid in advance for food directly from their wages but the money has not been made available to catering staff.

The mainstay of Wanderers’ power supply at the training ground is run on diesel generators but it was not until early yesterday afternoon that a fuel truck turned up to replenish supplies.

The Football Ventures (Whites) consortium, who have been in pole position to buy the club from Anderson, continued to hold their distance yesterday after conducting more than a week of due diligence.

It is understood they are unwilling to go ahead with the purchase of the club as things stand but that there could yet be room for manoeuvre between themselves and major creditors.

Anderson also claims to be in talks with two other potential buyers.
