I'm not a huge golf fan and rarely play, but I do like to watch the major tournaments especially the Masters in Augusta which starts tomorrow.
Anyhoo yesterday in the practice rounds Jon Rahm produced this unusual to say the least hole in one...

Anyone else planning to watch it?

Yes, I'll watch some. Was Rahm's shot deliberate? Looked like a hacker's mis-hit fluke.

That was a cracker! The shot he played was very unusual. It wasnt chipped over the water and onto the green. He skimmed it across the water, which takes any of the planned direction of the ball from the player. If you play to skim it across the water, it can go in any direction henceforth.

Had to be a fluke - too many variables as Sunlight points out - but it amused me anyway Smile

This is all part of the warm up tournament. All the players try the water skimming trick shot.

Knows his golf, does Boncey.

Did you hear about the Scotsman who gave up golf after 20 years. He lost his ball.

Love watching the majors and the masters course is such a superb looking venue, what i like about the golf over say Tennis is that any one of 40+ players can win in Tennis it's the top 4 usually.

Just to confirm take a look at the leader board and so many still in reach of the prize.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Masters again this year and although Scheffler strolled it in the end there was some amazing golf played. Not a fan of McIlroy but have to admit it was joyous when he and Morikawa found themselves in the same bunker on the 18th hole of the final round:

Great charge and some amazing improvised shots from McIlroy albeit too late to win it.
