Hutchinson Joins Atherton Collieries On Loan Large

Luke Hutchinson says he has plenty to learn after agreeing a loan deal with Atherton Collieries.

The goalkeeper, tipped to have a big future by Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt, has moved to the Skuna Stadium on a youth loan.

That means he will still be able to train full-time with the Whites and represent them in the Central League, when not in action for Northern Premier League side Colls.

Bury-born Hutchinson is looking forward to getting his first regular taste of senior football.

“I’m very happy to come to Atherton Collieries,” he said. “This is a big opportunity for me to play men’s football and to learn the physicality of it so I’m looking forward to it.

“I’ve been at Bolton for 10 years and been through the age groups so now this is my opportunity to come and keep building in the season ahead.

“Hopefully I can play well week-on-week and become better on the whole as a goalkeeper to learn what is required in senior football.”

Colls kick off their third consecutive season in the Northern Premier in a fortnight, with Hutchinson joining a string of former Wanderers to have been loaned out to the club.

Evatt had a big part in the move, and is eager to see the 18-year-old gain some experience away from the UniBol.

Speaking to Colls, Hutchinson said: “I spoke to the gaffer at Bolton, and he said that he wanted me to go out on loan to play men’s football. Atherton Colls are a good club and they’ve had players from Bolton in the past, so it was an ideal move for me to come here.

“We came with Bolton in the friendly a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. I liked how they [Colls] played and did well against us, so I was more than happy to make the move.

“I’ve trained with them for the first time and all of the squad are really good lads. We’ve got another training session this week then I’m looking forward to getting into a game with them on Saturday at Liversedge.”
