Just read this article and Butcher says heading needs to be phased out of the game.

Can anyone see this realistically happening? They can stop it in training but there is still the risk in games. It would change the game completely if they banned heading, would you want to watch football without heading? It might improve the standard of football but some teams rely on the route one method and they would feel penalised if heading was banned.

There's nothing better for me seeing a great headed goal or clearance but it is a massive risk looking at all the evidence piling up now.

Can't exclude heading from the game so just make them play with crash helmets on.

No chance of this happening. How do you ban an action that comes natural to any footballer. Can you imagine the chaos if every header was a free kick?

So how does the evidence of dementia in football stack up against the evidence of dementia in boxing?

Both sports know the risk of banging your head against a wall, but equally folk have the right to choose if they want to bang their head against a wall for large amounts of money.

Let the players choose and sign a disclaimer to protect the clubs. End of.
