New signing Aaron Morley wants to show his moves off once again 13372789

Aaron Morley can't wait to show off some more fancy footwork at Bolton Wanderers.

The midfielder is pencilled in to make his debut against Ipswich Town this weekend, having completed a £100,000 move from neighbours Rochdale.

He is no stranger to the UniBol, having played at the academy to the age of 16, and not long after he left to play at Spotland he retuned to the stadium for a very different reason.

“The last time I came up those steps it was prom night,” he smiled, sitting in the club’s media room. “It was a long time ago, I think I was 16.

“I first came here to play when I was about 14 and stayed for about 18 months. It didn’t work out but hopefully this time it will.”

“It feels amazing to be here. It is a massive club and it is exactly where I want to be at this time of my career.”

Radcliffe-based Morley made his professional debut for Rochdale just months after leaving Bolton, initially under Keith Hill, then his successors Brian Barry-Murphy and Robbie Stockdale.

He appreciates the role Rochdale played in his career and hopes now to progress under Ian Evatt at Bolton.

“I have learned so much under Brian and Robbie while I was at Rochdale. I think I’m at 120 games now and hopefully I can learn more now I am here,” he said.

“I made about 70 appearances in League One last season and the one before and hopefully I can flourish now.

“I’m still learning every day, so hopefully the gaffer here will take to me.

“I know a few players here like MJ, who was at Rochdale and they can’t speak highly enough of the club. Hopefully we can do something special this year.

“Just walking out on the pitch it just gets better every time you see it. Now I hope I can put some good performances in.”

Yay! he's made 70 League 1 appearances!
Boo! he's only scored 5 goals.
Yay! he's one of our own having come through our academy!
Boo! if he's decent, why did we let him go?
