He is right though. The old market hall had a bit of olde worlde charm and character. The new monstrosity is a pile of sterile shite.

My work does get appreciated every now and again!!! Woo Hoo!!

But I will fight for Bolton's survival at all costs - its my home town and hate seeing the way its being destroyed all in the name of recession and austerity when they are only a small factor in its continual failings, especially by the current council!

It's typical that they took one thing that was great about the town centre and turned it into something that's shit and that we already had enough of, i.e. shops for silly, pretentious twats.

I think Bury knocks spots off Bolton when it comes to town centre shopping.

It does and definitely overtaken Bolton in many ways. I actually know someone who is opening a restaurant in the town and when asked why Bury - because its in a better position to take on new ideas than what Bolton will ever be in the current climate, plus Bury has decent parking and has many things centrally located so its a prime-place to be!!! That basically sums it all up as to whats wrong with Bolton nowadays!

Bury is head and shoulders above Bolton for anything shopping related, they even have a cinema in the town centre unlike bolton, the valley is a pain in the arse to get to IMO.

The town is booming with trade and just leaves bolton in it's wake to be honest.
