Well it's official, Dougie is the 78th best manager in the country. Hard to believe there are 77 better managers, I would have thought it more, but there you go.

Some fantastic managers deemed better than Dougie are Micky Adams (of course), Brian Flynn, John Sheridan, Aidy Boothroyd, Russell Slade, Brian Laws and even STEVE KEAN!!!!!

We are truly doomed.

LOL, Steve Kean better than Freedman. You couldn't make it up.

But he's better than Harry Redknapp.

Not bad!

I wish we'd got the Dougie Freedman at number 17 Sad

Still better than Coyle though.

..and better than the fat traitor.
...but, if we've improved by 0.09 points per game since DF came on board....
= 0.005625 points per game improvement
= only another three seasons before we reach the points per game average required to get automatically promoted.
Happy days!

Sorry, but not better than the fat man... who had high ambitions with a low ambition management. Would much rather be in the top 8 in the EPL than stuck in a relegation battle in the Championship. And I have hope for DF to be good... only from his work in bringing in players with potential in January.

Your fans got a good manager sacked and replaced with Henning Berg. You couldn't make it up.

Owen Coyle came in at 87 so on that basis DF must be better than him.

I have looked twice and can't find Gary Megsons name. That means he isn't in the top 122.

You have to have a job to get a score.

So why did coyle get one?

It is based on managers who are (or have been), in work this season.

Oh I see, I haven't looked at it

I'm going to controversially state that Micky Adams isn't a "better manager" than Arsene Wenger, despite that fool proof table.

I'm assuming it's based on results this season alone so at this moment in time, MA is the better manager.

No he isn't.

Arsene Wenger is the better manager.

Ok ok. Adams is performing better, so technically the standings are correct.

Personally, I think it's a load of bullshit. You can make anything out of stats.

This sums it up for me

While it doesn't look very good for Dougie, you do have to consider a
few things. First off, there is no accounting for leagues and relative
difficulty of competition.

Then there is the fact that the numbers can fluctuate quickly. For
example: Should Bolton Wanderers beat Burnley on Saturday (without
calculating what could happen in the other matches), Dougie Freedman
will have gained 22 points from 17 games, bumping his average to 1.29
points per game and moving ten spots up the table. If the Trotters
manage to win two in a row, that's 25 points from 18 games and a 1.39
average, moving up to 56th in the table.
