The dead body of a newborn baby was found abandoned near to a Championship football team's training ground, it emerged today.
A cordon has been set up around a path where the child was found, close to fields used by Bolton Wanderers' academy players.
It is understood a group of walkers made the grim discovery on Ox Hey Lane in Lostock which is just over a mile from the Reebok Stadium.

This is truthfully disgusting. I Dont care what the circumstances surrounding it are.

My money would be on a woman who was in so much fear for her life, went through a whole pregnancy, gave birth and dumped her baby in a hedge - its still unknown if it was stillborn or alive upon birth either.

I suspect she was either unmarried or in a relationship with somebody her parents disapproved of.

The only person I have a bit of sympathy for is the mother - to do something this bad, she must have been desperate beyond anything most of us will ever feel or have felt - to basically throw your baby away, dead or not, you have to be under a lot of pressure.

Somebody in the Muslim community WILL know about this, but will keep it all under wraps - that's the way they do things. I hope for the sake of the mother and the baby involved that ANYBODY in the know is prosecuted for it, but I doubt they will ever find the mother or anybody else involved.

And before you say im assuming its Muslims again, im not - draw your own conclusions about the circumstances and morality of it all, but the baby was left with a note asking for an Islamic burial.

A mother should be willing to lose her own life to protect her child though.

All I can say is that the baby's mother must be dead, or mentally ill.

Very, very strange.

Whoever found the dead baby, must of had a shock.

what is there to say? Leaving a baby to die like that is disgusting (I assume it was dumped, maybe it was killed elsewhere)

nothing more to discuss really.

The body was left with a note requesting an islamic burial.

A newborn age dead baby was found dumped.

From this we know they are muslim (making me think the mother 'shamed' the family honour)

And they/she/it dumped a baby, either dead at the time or soon afterwards.

Hipster, I know full well a baby is dead, im not using it as an excuse to bash muslums.

Its a well known fact however, that in islam, family honour is a big thing - women get killed for shaming the family so to speak. Its a valid assumption to make.

Whoever wrote the note, requested an islamic funeral - your clever hipster, even you know this is more or less fact that the parents (or one of them) are muslim.

If there was no foul play, the baby would not have been dumped.

A very sad story indeed. Poor little baby. I hope the guilty party/parties are found and held responsible.
