If you could change a rule in football, what would it be.
For me when somebody picks up the ball after commiting a foul and walks away with it, they should get a yellow card. It's basically the same as kicking the ball away.

I'd bring in the head height rule from 5-a-side. That would soon encourage people to pass the ball rather than hoof.

another one for me is get rid of the 'penalty kick' way of deciding a game. They should have each team take off 3 players and play 8 a side until somebody scores.

Removing the offside rule would be interesting. Remember playing football with your mates when you were younger?

For me Diving would carry a red card and monetary fine.

There was always one "tip-liner".

I think you mean 'Titty Liner' - at Spurs it was Jimmy Greaves

You've come across them as well! A guy I went to school with scored loads in the school yard but never managed it on the field, can't understand why really?

I've never understand how a player can cost upto 80million.

You should have to pay no more than 1 million for a player.

I'd have someone above the ref and linesmen who could overule them or replace them during a match.

When pro football first started in the USA they had an 'offside line' (similar to the blue line in Ice Hockey) which was halfway between the halfway line and the goal line. You couldn't be offside until you were over that line. It was supposed to make the game produce more goals as they thought Americans wouldn't accept the game if there was not a lot of scoring. They also talked about having bigger goals, that never happened and the 'offside line' was eliminated. I think that FIFA told them that if they wanted to be considered as a footballing country they would have to play it with the same rules as everybody else.

That stupid handshake before the game starts, when they all line up.

If you want to shake hands, do it after the game.

I'd like to see a rule brought in whereby only the captains of each team are allowed to approach the ref, like they do in Rugby. I hate seeing players surrounding refs and trying to intimidate them into changing their decisions.

The rule that says if you have treatment for an injury (often caused by an opposing player) that you have to go off and wait for the ref to wave you back on again.
I've never understood it

TBF, the rules are perfect, apart from the 'gay handshake at the beginning' of a game.

For a great game of entertaining football.

i'd make the corner flag segment bigger.

so they can fit the ball in it.

Any grabbing/pushing will be punished from corners - at them moment its stupid that the clear offences are ignored.
