Here at Bolton Nuts we're always trying to improve the site, but we understand people are not always comfortable giving honest views and suggestions onto the site for all to see. Especially if those views are negative.

Therefore we have put together a short survey in the hope we will get some honest feedback or criticism.

The survey is 100% anonymous. You are not asked for any personal information, not even an e-mail address. It is impossible for Bolton Nuts admin to know who has said what.

The survey is just 10 questions long and you can skip any question that isn't relevant to you or you simply don't want to answer.

Here is the link:

Bolton Nuts Survey

Can I please ask everyone to give 2 minutes of their time and to answer the questions as honestly as possible. It would also help immensely if those members who don't post on the site were to complete the survey as well, including guests who may not even have registered.

Many thanks.

I would like to thank all of those who replied seriously to our questionnaire. In all we had a total of 46 replies and these are some of our findings from the feedback.

1 – 80% of people consider Nuts to be their home forum.
2 – There didn’t seem to be any particular barriers as to why people who just view don’t post. Hopefully in time people will simply just start to begin to post. New season starting this weekend so now is a great time to start folks!
3 – People rated the ‘look’ of Nuts as an 8 out of 10. As we are more concerned about content rather than ‘packaging’ we are quite pleased that the vast majority of people are happy enough as to how our site looks.
4 – 40% of replies state that they come to Nuts for the latest news on the club, which is more than any other sites or forums including the clubs official outlets!
5 – To be honest I don’t think everybody may have understood this question and if they didn’t that is our fault for not explaining it clearly. Our site is based mainly around the forum but we do have a ‘front page’ that can be found by clicking on the ‘News’ link at the top of the page under the sites banner. Our question was, is basically is it important to you that this section is active, busy and up to date, as because basically we put all our news directly on to the forum itself.

70% of the replies said that it was important to them that we have up to date news but we are uncertain if they meant that generally on the forum or specifically in the ‘News’ section specifically.

Clearly any active forum wants to carry the latest club news as so as possible and we like to think that we do that as well as anybody else out there.

6 – Roughly a third of the people skipped the question on the Chatbox, so we assume that they are not aware of our match day game LIVE interactive text commentary (irrespective of where in the country, or world for that matter, you may live)– if you don’t you are missing a real treat – honestly. The overwhelming response from the people who answered the question was how wonderful it was getting to hear the game Live, now that access to streams are now very seldom available.

We note there is sometimes a difficulty in knowing how to access the Chatbox and that the need to click on the log in link periodically if you do not make a remark can be somewhat annoying so we are having a look into how these things may be improved somewhat.

7 – We were somewhat surprised that over 60% of people don’t view Nuts via their mobile phones, I assume from this most of the people who replied view us from home or work PC’s / Laptops/ Pads. Of those who do use phones there did not seem to be any obvious concerns or problems.
8 – Nearly 90% of the survey thought the modding was ‘just right’. No one thought it was ‘To harsh’.
9 – Generally people would like to see improvements to the site along the lines as we ourselves suggested, namely match previews, match reports, player interviews, etc but there where very few other sorts of improvements suggested.

(For the person who said they did not know how to post images, simply click on the ‘Insert Image’ icon, post in your picture’s url and click ‘insert’. I don’t know how easier anyone can make it?).

10 – We did not receive any definite offers of help. Some did say they didn’t know what they could offer or lived too far away, but simple things like match previews or a written article about say your favourite player, or the best match you went too, would help – in fact anything would help.

So in summary once again for everyone who gave of their time to offer serious feedback in order that we can attempt to make our site even better for all of us, we would like to give a big thank you.

Finally it is not too late for anybody to complete a belated questionnaire as the more replies we do get the more information we have to see where we should be concentrating or future efforts on.

Thank you

I did it a few days ago.

Obviously I couldn't answer all the questions, being the black sheep and all that.

The site's for all of us Copper and our aim is simply - just to continue to make it the best we can for us all to enjoy.

I appreciate the time and trouble from you and everybody else who have tried to help us by answering and commenting on whatever you could.

I personally was surprised at one or two of the things we got back, for instance I had thought that there would have been more access to the site from mobile phones than what there seems to be and that many people seem to be unaware of our Chatbox feature, which brings LIVE and interactive commentary to everyone irrespective of where in the country (or world) you live.

We've got a few things to look at from the feedback, some are technical and some are wishful but they have given us something to aim at.

If anybody wants to add to our feedback by completing the questionnaire it is not too late to do so.

And finally, for those who have expressed some interest in actually starting to post on the site, or would like to help but don't feel confident of their own abilities to do so - please just 'plunge' right in and get on with it! The more and varied posters we have, the busier and more interesting the site becomes - and the gift of match previews or reminiscences of players or games gone by adds to the interests of our younger membership and the history that our club as and provokes happy memories of us older members of times gone by.

The site is only as good as the posts that are made - so with a new season starting in less than 48 hours, why not simply give us a go and post something - I'm sure you will enjoy the camaraderie when you finally do!
