Chris Baird?

QPR face competition from West Brom and Bolton for former Fulham defender Chris Baird.

The Northern Irishman is training at Rangers with view to a one-year deal at Loftus Road.

Boss Harry Redknapp is keen to add the utility man to his ranks as he continues to overhaul his squad following relegation from the Premier League.

However, the Chronicle understand 31-year-old Baird is also attracting interest from West Brom and Championship rivals Bolton.

A good player. Can player a number of different positions too.

Would prefer us to save the wages for a better player in a more pressing position (CB/CM).

Not a bad player....good experience.  You're right though I would spend on a creative midfielder first.

Doubt we'll be signing another creative midfielder, Moritz has been brought in for that. We need a good box to box midfielder ideally, but these are hard to come by, Spearing is the next best option as at least he has decent energy about him.

Moritz & Spearing would seem to be a decent pairing.....at least on paper.  Of course I'm saying that without ever seeing Moritz kick a ball.
