How important is money?

Very. You're screwed without it. They say money doesn't make you happy- but I've got enough of it and I'm happy.
Having no money makes most people stressed and unhappy.

My student loan has recently run out. I've been pretty skint and had to start economising, and it's surprising how not that less happy it has made me.

When you're comfortable money-wise, you invariably take it for granted. You go round the supermarket putting luxury stuff in your basket that you don't need and won't appreciate anyway. Having to make cutbacks and manage on a budget makes you appreciate things more. It also gives you a better sense of value for money.

It depends on how you look at it.

Do the members of a remote tribe in Africa have less feelings of happiness than we do because the have no money? As long as they have shelter and food and family I should imagine that even the most basic of communities have as much happiness as the average person in England - maybe more.

I might be wrong but I think Culcheth might - by referring to the video - be saying Whitney and George had all the money they could dream about but it only helped ruin their lives by easy access to drugs.

Better poor and healthy than rich and a smack head as in their case.

Sluffy, there are many who are poor and in ill health, without means to rectify it. I prefer to be comfortable and in good health, (at least I have one out of two  ). For me, money is required to enhance your lifestyle, presumably making it more enjoyable, or even prolonging it, but when you get too much, you can abuse it, and yourself, and lose track of what life is really about. (I still want to win the lottery though).

They say money can't buy you happiness but it sure does help. I think most people would just be happy to be comfortably financially secure. No mortgage, a fortnight abroad every year and a new car every 5 years or so would do me fine. Oh, and to be able to renew my Wanderers St every year. It's important to get ones priorities right when it comes to finances.

Only one payment left on my mortgage .. Woohoo !

1-Health
2-wealth
3-Looks
If you have all three you should be one happy sob.

Whatever, happens, I always have my good looks to fall back on   (another thing to make us all happy, and to keep usgoing, is family)
