You mean the record where he scored 23 goals in 41 games for Chesterfield and 19 goals in 60 games for a struggling Barnsley side.

You, sir, are an idiot.

Spot on 1874.

I keep reading things along the lines of "Beckford needs 10 chances before he scores one". People should ask themselves why he finds himself in so many good goalscoring situations, despite being in a team that is generally poor going forward.

We wouldn't necessarily be better off swapping him for a player that's better at converting chances.

Beckford misses out

Jermaine Beckford is set to be out of action for three weeks after damaging his hamstring in Wanderers’ 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest last weekend.

The striker was forced to be substituted on the half hour mark against Billy Davies’ men, with Andre Moritz coming on in his place.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, manager Dougie Freedman confirmed the news and also offered an update on the shape of the team ahead of Saturday’s clash with Reading.

“Jermaine is going to miss the game through a hamstring injury – it’s not quite his hamstring, but it’s his gluteal muscle,” Freedman explained. “He will be out for roughly three weeks.

“Aside from that, we also have Craig Davies coming back into the squad and Adam Bogdan is available for selection.”
