That's an incredibly inflammatory remark to make under the circumstances.
I think it's more a case of begging, borrowing and buying on the cheap so we have a team to survive whilst the clearout takes place - and picking up a few decent prospects so we have some hope for the future.

Don't think anybody wants him - including Dougie. No end product these days.

I agree wanderlust, his best game was against Cardiff in the fa cup, no surprise really. I would rather have a more direct winger like feeney in the team and with all this cost cutting going on, no doubt feeney is on a fraction of chungy's wages.

I will agree, if we sign dawson
We won't get dawson mate, wigan are now red hot favourites to land him. Apparently SSN is reporting Dougie has given up on a left back altogether. He's looking for a right back with Baptiste to move over to LB.

The way I heard it, Dougie has been scouring the land for a LB since Tierney got injured but hasn't managed to land one as we have no clout in the market and there aren't that many available.
No doubt he'll get slaughtered for it but if they aren't available then there's not much he can do about it.
When's Tierney back?

Don't look for him this season mate, that's the last I saw on the club site at any rate. But in my opinion DF should have been looking for another LB the moment Alonso left. I realise hindsight has 20/20 vision but with our squad being so thin anyway he had to know we had no real backup if Tierney got injured. No offence to Ream who isn't a bad defender but in my book he's a CB not a full back. Like Baptiste he gets skinned by a winger with pace. We need a proper Left Back, someon with a bit of pace as well as ability to tackle even if Ream is passed fit to play tomorrow as some reports suggest.

But Dougie bought Tierney when Alonso left...

This left back thing. On the downside, it's a shame that all the LBs researched didn't pan out. On the upside - at least Dougie is strong enough not to "panic buy" players he hasn't got the lowdown on - which has definitely been the case with previous managers - although they did have the money to do it with.

Times are tough and the club will go to any lengths to squeeze a few more quid out of the fans. This e-mail has just entered my inbox...

If everyone takes up the offer we might be able to help the club sign a decent left back from the Conference.

Look at which player is doing the modelling!

Doesn't look too happy does he?

I think that might be it for today unless we get an offer for one of our players. Perhaps Mason in the loan window. With Beckford back next week I can't see Dougie splashing on a striker, there are no LBs to be found etc. Possible exception is if Dawson/Baggies have a change of heart in which case I reckon our weak board will make funds available to appease the fans. Don't think Dougie would be given any money for anyone else, so unless we sell first it will be a struggle.
