I still don't get this Mason thing and the idea of playing him as a striker is bonkers. Mason is a winger and whilst wingers with the quality of Thierry Henri have made the transition, Elmander didn't and I can't see Mason doing it either. Dougie must be seeing something I can't to even consider it.

Don't really get this Dyrestam thing either although he can allegedly play anywhere across the back four. The search for a natural LB must be getting desperate.
Dougie mentioned having a versatile defender the other week, but this lad's a risk. Still it's only a trial and only need LB cover until Tierney is back. Certainly fits our budget and could be a bargain - if we don't check him out we'll never know.

IMO, Mason will be playing with the Juke, but probably in the hole, just behind Juke. I know this sounds very pervy, but that's my thoughts!

He's supposed to be signing for 50 days, not one month as was first reported.

Shame about McNaughton, I thought we would have a great chance of signing him for free in the summer, but he's been offered a new deal at Cardiff.

True but McNaughton is 30? and on decent wages. By the summer, Tierney will be back so if Dougie can make do and mend until then he'll be able to look around for a younger back up for Tierney and restore some competition for the LB slot. This young lad reportedly coming on trial implies he's already on the lookout for a long-term solution.
Plus he's already got Popescu on trial.
