Wanderers’ under-21 side are next in action against their Reading counterparts on Monday evening.

Following on from an unfortunate 3-2 reverse at the hands of Everton at the Reebok last week – a game in which it took an outstanding Conor McAleny second-half strike from distance to decide the outcome – the Whites will be aiming to bounce back at the first time of asking.

They will come up against Martin Kuhl’s in-form Royals however, with the Madejski youngsters having recently secured a berth in the semi-finals of the Premier League Cup and entering the clash on the back of a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield following goals from Michael Hector and Harry Cardwell.

With their last home outing against West Ham United ending in a 2-0 defeat though, Wanderers will be looking to capitalise on that result and continue their fine form on their travels after their last trip in the south of England culminated in an impressive comeback and a 5-2 win away to Tottenham Hotspur.

This was a game in which Georg Iliev notched a hat track and followed that up with a brace against Everton, with the frontman no doubt eager to continue to his goal scoring form against the Royals.
