Anybody bin? What's it like and where do the groovers and shakers hang out?
Looks a bit staid to me but the gaffer fancies it.
And while we're at it what's Dubrovnik like, looks a better bet for me.

Been to both. Dubrovnik was excellent, (depending on what you want of course). I found it cost as much, sometimes a little more, than the UK. We went to Montenegro and Bosnia on day trips, all very good. beaches are not very good, stones, and shingle. People are friendly enough. Overall, well worth a visit.
Malta was very disappointing. Beaches were almost non-existent, the food was pretty average, (national dish is rabbit stew !), and not too many tours to go on. although the island next door, (forget its name, was ok for a day trip. We were at each for at least 12 days, and I would say by the last day, both were getting a little boring.
We aren't beach people, and like to wander around during the day, and go out for a meal at night. If you like staying on the beach, you might have a different view of things.

Agree with the above.

Gozo is the island he is talking about, much better place.

Gozo is much nicer - more unspoilt. Stayed at a place called Marsalforn on the north coast one time.

Gozo is very popular with scubadivers. It has some really stunning underwater views. I have never been to Malta or Dubrovnik but my muissus went to Dubrovnik when it was Yugoslavia and she loved it. Nice hotels and very picturesque.

Apparently they do a great line in blow-up dolls in Malta.

(Sits back and waits to see if anyone knows what he's on about......)

Frankly, I'm disappointed you haven't grafted SBF's face onto that doll....

Thanks for all your "sensible" comments lads. I suspect Malta will be a bit Madeiraish which didn't particularly float my boat so it looks like Dubrovnik.
