Joe Mason has been ruled out of action for the coming weeks after suffering a hamstring tear in training.

The on-loan Cardiff City striker pulled up in a training on Friday afternoon and is now set for a prolonged period on the sidelines.

“We’ll speak to Cardiff about the situation as it looks like he’ll be out for a while,” Neil Lennon said after the weekend’s 0-0 draw with Ipswich.

“At this moment we’re looking at between six and eight weeks, so we’ll see how things develop and take it from there."

We will never see him play for us again.

Cardiff wanted him back anyway and Lennon's hardly played him.

Annoyingly he would have been a ready-made replacement for Clayton.

Shame he is injured now when we need him the most.  I agree he has probably kicked his last ball for us.  Neil wants to bring in his own boys.

We are getting a bit thin on the ground when it comes to strikers. Is there a possibility that Jermaine could be recalled?
