Neil Lennon says Bolton’s second half performance was key in securing three points on the road at Millwall.

Darren Pratley crashed home the only goal of the game midway through the second period, after Rob Hall had earlier hit the base of the post.

Andrew Lonergan also pulled off a smart save late on to deny Martyn Woolford who was clean through on goal.

“It’s certainly up there with one of the best away performances during our time at the club,” Lennon said after the game.

“We played some very good football and created plenty of chances throughout. We were good value for the win.

“In the second half in particular, I thought we were very good.

“Our goalkeeper is playing superbly and he made a world class save late on. That’s now three clean sheets in a row and defensively we’re in a very good place.

“In Lee Chung-Yong we’ve also got a player who can light up most stadiums in the country, let alone the Championship.

“We played him a little bit deeper tonight because we wanted to get him on the ball a bit more. He brings so much to the team when he’s on the ball and makes our team so much better.

“There were a couple of decisions that could have gone either way. They maybe feel they could have had a penalty early on in the second half, but equally we think that Rob Hall was clipped inside the area in the first half.

“I think on the balance of play we deserved the win. We played without a recognised striker this evening and to do as well as we did is very pleasing.”
